Using internal and an external HVA accredited Auditor we regularly monitor all compliance areas to mitigate risk for both Fred’s and our clients.

We have extensive experience in the delivery of line haul freight services and our focus on compliance ensures adherence to road transport, OH&S, Chain of Responsibility and all other relevant legislation; management of safety and fatigue management systems; and minimising environmental impact via fleet management and driver training.

Our clients work with us for our safety record and our focus on systems and processes.  All of our drivers, including our sub-contractors, are required to complete our rigorous induction program, which sets out their responsibilities and expectations whilst performing their role.

Fred’s work with clients in such a way that recognises combined workplace health and safety obligations. Fred’s has a sophisticated workplace health and safety system which is part of our corporate commitment to ‘Zero Harm’.

We also reinforce health and safety messages through regular internal communication, such as newsletters and ongoing training, which addresses fatigue management, vehicle safety and speed management.

We also engage an independent external auditor to work in collaboration with our internal team and in tandem with your customer audit requirements to ensure compliance and procedures are up to date and in accordance with legislative and contract requirements.

Fred’s Interstate Transport are Concessional Mass Limit (CML) accredited under the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) and we routinely monitor vehicle weights to ensure they are not overloaded.

Fred’s is focused on reducing their environmental impact, through ongoing initiatives such as using better quality fuels and routine maintenance of vehicles to achieve optimal performance.

More recently, we have invested in newer EGR engine technology which re-burns specific engine emissions. We also recycle used engine oils, tyres and mudguards with the assistance of external agencies.

We use the latest technology to ensure your freight gets to its destination on time and in full.  This includes our web-based freight management software to manage freight bookings, track freight and a POD retrieval system.  Fred’s can also seamlessly integrate with a customer’s existing freight management system as required.

In addition, these GPS systems assist with monitoring of speed, engine monitoring and maintenance of electronic work diaries.
